Hi all

so i went to see the car and there was little white smoke and blow by coming out of the engine (dip stick) and I asked around some said it was normal because of the turbo

so I need your help guys, if someone can send me a video or post a video of a normal engine with a perfect condition so I can used it for as a reference , the sound and if you pull the dipstick how much air and smoke comes out

I have asked like 7 people , they all said something different

any help will be highly appreciated

100% agree with @Malo83. Seriously, do not ever buy a used car that immediately makes you question its state of repair. There are other fish in the sea.

Have you tried YouTube? I hear they have a few videos of things.
How many miles ???
How much ???
300,000 and they want $5000, well then .......
Vapor coming out the dipstick tube on a 1.5.
Looks like the cracked piston issue to me. Run away from that car no matter how good the price is. Turbo motor should not be doing that at all if it's healthy.
Normal blow by should fully controlled by the PCV system at idle in any engine no matter how old it is if it's in good condition.

In my 40 years of mechanics Was always if a car has white smoke came from the rings letting oil by the cinder and burning

A cracked piston will allow the same oil to enter the cylinder. And with a turbocharged motor, everything is under a lot more stress than an NA engine.
The PCV system being blocked can also get you this in the gen9 turbos. Personally, I wouldn't venture into a turbo at all in the Mideast climate. I would want a GCC car with the appropriate cooling accomodations.

Would pass and spend the extra $$ for a 2.0L.
