I have 6k HID headlights and am looking into putting some fog lights in as well. I am undecided whether I want 6k or 3k in the fog lights. Has anyone put either of these on their cars and could you possibly post pictures? I would really appreciate it as it would help tremendously in making my decision :D

Yep, mine are 3000K fog lights and I love them. Since the distance a fog light has is minimal putting a bright light in them would be more for keeping the lights matching, but not really have much of a benefit. 3000K will help visibility in fog, rain, snow, tornadoes, and hurricanes. Okay maybe not the last two:D. Basically 3000K (yellow) does not reflect back as easy to help visibility. Around me, I have a need for the 3000K and they look good too.

Sweet! Thanks for the pics! Thats exactly what I need. I was just unsure and didnt want to purchase something I wasnt going to be happy with. And increasing visibility at night is always a good thing, especially since I live in a rather rural area. 3000k it is!

This may be a silly question but I will ask anyway... Do you have to replace the housing or just the bulbs?

You replace the bulbs with new bulbs, but a ballast in between the new and old connection.

You may want to consider getting the relay kit when you do. The wiring in the 'Bu is painfully small-gauge. Having the kit will ensure that the HIDs get the volts and amps they demand.

I'm probably not gonna get HIDs but when it warms up next Spring I'm gonna rewire the headlights (low and high) so they run on larger gauge wiring. And when Sylvania finally decides to make H11 bulbs in Silver Star Ultra I'll get a pair. Right now they don't that I can find. I've had Ultras in other cars and they're freakin' awesome. So, with better wiring and (hopefully) better bulbs I'll be able to see China!

Sorry for kinda stealing the thread.

I get mine from VVME. They are about $39 and come with Phillips bulbs. I have two sets in mine and they haven't had a problem yet, plus 2 friends have had the same kit for years.

Well as of today I am afraid of the DDM kits. My buddy had a ballast melt today. We were on lunch break and after we parked we smelled it. This is a guy who used to be a car audio installer and knows electronics/cars well. That just put a bad taste in my mouth for the cheap kits....

I have used good expensive kits in the past at least I was led to believe they were. One kit lasted 6 months and I couldn't get it warrantied since I never heard back from the company. The second kit, euro dezigns, ran hot and melted some stuff, good thing I had the relay harness though. So far the DDM kit has been the best, but I guess every company can have issues. Good thing nothing more happened than the kit being damaged in your buddies car.

As far as that goes - if nothing ever broke, we'd never have to have warranties.

I'd get your friend to claim on the warranty if I were you.

Past that - they've always given me good service, above and beyond. Nothing's broken so far in either car (the 'Bu or the Cougar).

Where did you get your 3000k fog light bulbs from? I got a pair of 3000k for mine but they are like a lime green and not yellow.
