Where did the extra 1,000 come from?

I think I got hosed on my deal.
I think it's called "Overage Bonus Cash"? $1000 off specific VIN numbers. The dealer did not want to disclose this rebate. I showed him that Carmax had basically the same car for $1k cheaper and I would drive another hour and buy it from them. He then suddenly remembered this rebate and gave it to me. What surprised me was the $1k rebate was taken off before tax.

I did my math again and I did have an extra $1000 in there.

I don't think I got a GREAT deal but not terrible. Sticker was $23,558 and I paid about $19,178 before rolling up my trade's negative equity.

Mine's a 1LT.

Great deal! Just curious, how did you get the Nissan cash on a Chevrolet? You basically got a $3,500 rebate, which is excellent.
GM was not honoring a Nissan rebate, it was GM's own rebate for current Nissan owners.
I guess GM was trying to get Nissan owners to switch to a GM vehicle. I doubt the rebate is still available.

It was explained to me that the federal government will refund you some if not all of the state sales tax amount when you file your taxes in the spring.
