If you have a "squeaky" brake pedal, come in.

Took my car in for a Mobil 1 oil change and to have a new upper dash pad that was popping up ordered....

While I was was there I mentioned about my brake pedal sometimes squeaking. It never really bothered me as you really can't hear it, and if the stereo is on or window is open you can't at all. Well turns out there is a TSB on it. They remove and replace the master cylinder fluid and do a flush and it makes the noise go bye bye. Just a heads up if any of you hear the same thing.

Good to know on the TSB. I have not noticed anything like that, but that might be because I either always have the window down or radio turned up.....LOL! Thanks for the heads up, I will pay attention on my next drive.

No problem man, that is why we are here!
I have a weird sound sometimes, and only when it's not been operated for a long time, and only on the first couple of stops, and then only when it is almost stopped. The brakes also feel very touchy at those times. SilverLTZ, was this how yours sounded, or is this just the same symptoms of the brakes warming up and condensation forming? If so, then it's not a problem, just normal, eh?
Mine squeaks all the time when stopping.. I need to take mine in
The issue I am refering to is from the actual pedal. The cars come with carbon metallic pads, they WILL sometimes squeak and make noise.

Mine has the exact same problem. Thanks for the info. Now I just need to find a different dealer since my current one sucks at customer service.
Silver LTZ -- Way to go man -- your good . I think i will join ALLDATA to look up these TSB's. Thanks again for the info !!!!
took the car in twice for the squeaky brake pedal it is in the shop now and they are replacing the post and assembly. We'll see if that takes care of the "creaky" sound and feel.

same prob here.. i didn't check this site , should have first before i changed my front brakes this past weekend.. car has almost 32k miles and it still had plenty of pad left!
dumb quest. - since this is a TSB , will the dealer fix under warr ?
If your vehicle is still under warranty a TSB will be fixed at no charge.
My brakes had the same squeaky noise too. SilverLTZ is correct, there is a service TSB on the squeaky brake problem. They did replaced brake fluid and noise had stopped. I took it to the dealership sometime around November/December.
Hey Silver
I got the squeaky brakes last night and this Am my car only has 2453 miles on it. Spoke to the dealer, Taking it in next oil change.
Taking my car in the weekend for the squeaky brake pedal. Do I need to mention anything to them when I take it in or should they know about the bulletin? I told them the brake pedal was squeaking when applied. Do I need to mention the TSB? Just wanna make sure they fix the right thing and that it will be covered under the warranty.
I would mention it. Usually all service depts. need all the help they can get.
My 2009 Malibu LT2 has a very squeaky brake pedal too. My problem is that the car has 48,000 miles on it. Any chance the dealer will fix this TSB under warranty? If not any idea what this repair would cost. This has been driving me crazy for the past 6 months.

A dealer doesn't not have to fix a TSB when you are out of warranty. Some dealers might do it under good will being it is not that big of a deal.
My squeaky brake comes on intermittently. I have to watch for it. BTW, the below thread has info on the TSB

SilverLTZ, Dash pad replaced?

It looks like mine has been lifting or warping up from the sun in the center, just above the center compartment on the dash! It is not bad but noticeable. This has been bothering me for some time, maybe I should get this checked out quickly before my bumper to bumper is out! Is this were yours was lifting?

Please let me know!
