Hello i am new to this forum. I have an 05 chevy malibu, LT, and i was wondering what kind of in dash gps systems would fit into my car? Besdies the stock one that I think you can get from chevy.

There is no stock GM system that would work with your '05 (different electronics architecture), but most aftermarket 1 din, 1.5 din, or double/2 din size (the first 2 with an adapter kit to fit) would work. There are a few Pioneer, among many other, systems that come to mind off hand.

Otherwise, the issue with your '05 will be that the DIC (Driver Information Center) and all the controls for it are integral to the stock head unit and will then be lost if you change it out--unless you use the one adapter from Metra that mostly keeps the system working, in a new way:

You'll also have to have the right adapters to keep Onstar working correctly as well, if that's something your car does have.
