I just got my Malibu last Thursday and was very disappointed with the lack of Bluetooth & GPS in the stock stereo.
So, after a little research and weighing the gains versus what I'll lose, I made the leap and purchased a Kenwood DNX-7140 from my local speed shop.
I went in thinking I would purchase a Pioneer, but got talked into the upgrade to the Kenwood.
I'm giving up the 3 months of XM & the steering wheel controls ( for now, anyway ). But, I'm gaining a 7" display, Garmin GPS, DVD, Parrot Bluetooth, and the ability to add Sirius or HD radio down the road.
My unit will be installed on Thursday morning. I'll post some pictures of the finished product next week.

Wish me luck!

Don't forget the adapter to keep your factory warning chimes and OnStar system

If you dont mind me asking how much did you pick up the unit for?

Yeah, I got the adapter for the OnStar & chimes - not cheap!

My installer matched the price ( w/shipping ) from Sonic Electronix.com . They have some of the best prices I've found on the web. Plus, my installer could have it the next day!

I spent 7 years in my last vehicle with the stock stereo. Just like now, I had planned to upgrade, but never got around to it. Then the vehicle was too old to warrant an upgrade!

I went way over my initial budget, but me & my Malibu are worth it. I'll probably have the Malibu for 7 years, too!

I've only had the steering wheel controls for a week, so I probably wont miss them. I may add them back down the road when my bank account recovers from this hit! Same with satellite radio, though I think I'll go Sirius.
