I was just wondering if there was a way to swap out the interior panels and dash along with the seats for those of an LTZ malibu, i have the ls which isnt leather and its a gray panel and dash, i want the ebony and brick interior, is it possible and how much do you think it would be to swap it out?

I did it once but it was on the 83 Citation that I had owned. It had brown vinyl seats. I switched it out with a grey cloth interior. It took the better part of a day for the interior work alone, but after repainting the exterior to match, it looked good. I started with an all brown car in and out, and ended up with a dark red exterior with a charcoal grey interior. It was a sharp looking car when it was all done. Dash was a pain, and will take at least two people to line it up and one to crawl under and bolt it down. If you aren't mechanically minded leave it to the professionals. My brother and I did this, but we already had experience swapping engines, changing clutches, and we did more than one head gasket job.

You could surely do it, but I bet it would cost a fortune. If you want the ebony/brick that bad (I have it and love it), I'd say trade it in for a LTZ. My guess is at least $3500 for the swap, if not more....Might be cheaper to have a leather shop do the seats then to buy them from GM. That dash and console must cost a lot though.

to give you a figure on how much interior prices are.... I am getting the top part of my dash replaced (Due to the fact that it is warping behind the compartment on top) and just that part is $556.90 cents...... granted I am lucky its under warranty and I anit paying a dime to get this done.... it could get expensive as you can tell with that only being one part of the interior...... pricey stuff man

Frank,

What specific parts of the dashboard are you having replaced? I just want the curved piece covering the passenger dashboard replaced because I can see the outline of the airbag box in the dashboard piece. I could not get the dealer to replace it before, so I am wondering how much that might cost.

Thanks.

I am getting the black part of the whole top of the dash replaced, where the seem meets at the middle where the radio is at, I am pretty sure it includes the part that covers the air bag.... I was gonna get it done two weeks ago, but the part they got from the factory was missing a piece of the brick color so they sent it back and the new one is in..... I just gotta set up the appt to get it done..... But its basically the whole top part of the dash..... but I will get the skinny on what they fix when I get it done and I will update ya
