(NOTE: Not sure if this is the right section or not, but it does relate to DIY)

OK ALL Here is my question....

This past weekend I made the switch from my summer tires (and rims) to my winter tires and steelie rims.

Jacking up the front of the car was not an issue at all as I found a section on the frame that was perfect for it, and also a good spot to put the jack stands.

Front of the car done with no real issues.

THE PROBLEM!

The rear of the car....Has anyone found a location to jack up the back end of the car so that BOTH wheels will come off the ground?

I looked and tested for a good 10 minutes trying to find a place that would allow me to jack up the rear of the car. The following is where I looked / tried

1) Rear Bumper - No Good - Frame is quite aways away from the actual bottom of the bumper and there is a large gap there. Thus no where to place the jack.

2) Just past gas tank - NO GOOD - Muffler is right there. (I have dual exhaust so this could be causing my issue)

I really couldn't find any good spot to jack up the entire rear of the car. I was able to isolate the suspension joints and place the jack in / around there and jack up one side of the car.

This is a really big pain in the a$$! I prefer to have the whole rear jacked up and just do the tire swap and not screw around with jacking up each side of the car seperately.

My wife's 2005 vibe actually has a nice little jack point behind the muffler and gas tank that works very well, and that is it's sole purpose.

Anyone have any other luck or spots that I am not thinking of?

I have a 3 ton jack with a long stoke and height ability.

Any help or recommendations would be greatly appreciated, please keep in mind I have dual exhaust (which could be the cause of my problem but I hope not).

Thanks in advance for the assistance.

Cheers,

DOACanada

DOA I had the same issue when I painted my calipers, there really isn't a hard point on the rear to lift, I have 2 floor jacks so I just lifted one side of the car at a time, also easy to rotate the tires this way ;)

Malo83 - Thanks, Yeah I had no problems finding a place to jack up one side of the vehicle, it's just a pain in the butt!

If the answer is there is no place than I shall venture on doing what I was doing. It's just kind of crappy that's all.
