Hey, everyone...

I just picked up a new 2009 1LT, white with Cocoa/Cashmere. Found a fleet car with the 3.5, remote start and Bluetooth. So far the wife and I are really liking the car. I traded a 2008 4WD Avalanche 3LT with rainsense, autolock and 20's. We've got a new baby coming next month, and figured it would be nice to save a little money each month... I know I'm really going to miss the Avalanche and all it's goodies, but the Malibu is a really nice car, and I need to start making some changes to make it my own. Going to tint the windows, and add a small spoiler, then thinking about adding LTZ fogs, and some aftermarket wheels, probably stay 17"...

Thanks for the welcome. We just got a new camera the other day, so hope to get some good pix this weekend.

Took the car on a 200 mile round trip Sunday with A/C on the whole way. Mostly interstate, but with some pretty steep hills. Averaged 27.2mpg by the computer and 26.9 at the pump. I was quite happy with it. Better yet, it seems the car never needs to downshift. It just chugs right along with plenty of power...

Haven't had it a week yet, but I will just point out my few negative thoughts. I don't anticipate any more. I guess my Avalanche spoiled me. First off, I don't want to say the steering wheel controls suck, but compared to the Avalanche and previous body Malibu, they suck. There's no cancel for the cruise, no source and no tune button for the stereo. Plus, the buttons are just kinda awkward to reach. and not sure what the higher end sound system sounds like, but compared to the Bose I used to have.....

So, far those are my only complaints, and those are by no means reason not too love this car. :)

So, I've also realized I NEED to paint the bowties white (painted the ones on my truck black to match), and will probably keep my eyes out for leather shift knob and wheel...

Love the interior, love the smooth, quiet ride... we drove it home with the windows down doing around 75 on the interstate, and there was no wind noise. We were able to talk in a normal voice... I REALLY don't like 4-door cars, but this one is changing my mind.

Welcome to the site, closer9. I feel your pain- I went from an 07 Av LTZ 4x4 to my 08 'bu LTZ, and still occasionally find myself missing the pampering I had in the Av. But, like you said, I save quite a bit of change with the car vs. the Av, and my family appreciates it, especially my daughter, whose straight teeth are well worth it.
