Short answer, Yes.

The BCM determines the flash rate and even sends a fake "blinkup" sound to the left front speaker. If the load is not what it expects (too little, too much), it will hyperflash. Installing the resistors needs to be done across the turn (+) and (-), mounting the resistor on or near metal and away from plastic to help prevent melting stuff. It can also just hang freely if you choose.

Logan, just curious, since I see you just bought the Malibu, but are you aware of what is involved in changing a front turn signal bulb? You just want to be sure you are comfortable taking the front bumper off.
Just in case he doesn't realize what's involved, there are plenty of how-to videos on YouTube on replacing the bulbs on these cars. It's actually not that difficult in the end, just time consuming and annoying.
