LED's are cooler.

Hey guys I know that a number of you have some LED lights in your cars and I was wondering if the LED burn hotter or cooler than the standard bulbs. I had to get a new driver's side headlamp assembly and the first one I got the amber lens in the thing melted because the bulb got so hot. I have some 36 LED 3157s on the way and I am hoping that those will be the solution. Any input or ideas guys?

I got all my from http://www.superbrightleds.com/
No, I had them in the plate housings but they would for some reason blink a little so I removed them.No that's great they are really bright. Do you have any in your exterior lights?
