I have a new style 2008 Malibu LTZ. I am trying to determine if this vehicle has a rear wheel speed sensor and if so its location. I cannot find any connectors or wires that indicate its location or existance

Gen7 wheel speed sensors are part of the wheel bearings. If you have ABS, which is likely since it's an LTZ, you'll have a VSS at each WB.

Are you also working on a 2007 that's been in an accident on the right rear? It's a Gen6.

I was under the impression that ABS was standard on all Gen 7 Malibus, even the basic LS models. Unless of course that changed over the years but I remember seeing a dealer brochure or poster that said ABS came standard on all trim levels, but I think that was for the 2011 model year.

I don't know if it was or not, but having the LTZ, it'll be standard at that trim level.
