Re: lowing the malibu
Cutting them will change their rates and KILL the ride.

im trying to determine if i should cut or heat... i guess each have their own pros and cons and both heating and cutting are cons compared to buying a set of lowering springs but i like doing self modifications and putting time into projects cause im a perfectionist and it makes me feel goodCutting them will change their rates and KILL the ride.
None, nobody makes anything for the 5th and 6th gens.whats some good sites for customizing a malibu, parts and accessories?
whoflungpoo-bonics for lowering.What is lowing?
well i ordered a set a couple weeks ago and they came in yesterday so ill post some before & after pictures of the outcome when i get them put on...
edit: i ordered them for a pontiac g6 and they were supposed to lower a g6 1.75 all the way around and im guessing the malibu is a bit heavier so im expecting a 2 inch drop,...
i hope anyways
Good luck with the project! I read somewhere that the OEM shocks and even the KYB GR-2 shocks have some problems with the lowering springs and wear out quickly. I can't remember where I read it but someone who did this is having his KYB GR-2 shocks wearing out within 15,000 miles :0im going to put the lowering springs on the stock shocks and ill probably do it this weekend as my weekend project.![]()
what is considered a "small" drop though? an inch, or two?A small drop is just fine with OEM shocks.
