Could it be because there were no changes from the 2008 year that it's still valid? I don't really know what to tell you.. I don't do hybrids LOL but maybe giving the IRS a quick call could answer your question?

Ha the kinder, gentler, frendlier IRS is always there to help you out. It should count, but there could possibly be an issue with the fact that it's not a true hybrid. Though if the credit applied for 2008 models, I would assume it would for the 2009. If you recently purchased a 2009 hybrid you're in for quote the tax break. If you get the hybrid credit you'll get that, plus you can deduct the sales tax cost, and you'll get another credit with the stimulus package for buying a new car. That's a lot of dimp!
