Hi,
I have chevrolet malibu 2005 LS
the holder of the mirror was broken by my kid.(the part which connected to the front glass).
I dont know how this part is called, but it is the part which hold the mirror.
I am speaking about the inside mirror, not the right/left mirror.
my mirror having a ball end and connected to the holder by the ball end.
I see on the back of the mirror writted: Schefenacker 015828 e11
I need the holder , catalog number, the right name etc.
thanks a lot

The GM part number for the braket is 20626174. That's the little metal piece that gets epoxy-glued to the windshield. The P/N for the rearview mirror is 25603373 (22730183 if equipped with OnStar). The rearview mirror (the end of the connecting rod, actually) slides onto the braket and then is secured with a hex bolt. If you don't have OnStar or don't care about it, I suggest calling around the junkyard for any Malibu 1997 on.

Hi,
Thank you for the important information.
I see the hex bolt, but I dont understand how I replace the broken bracket by a new one ?
I have to open the hex bolt then the broken bracket will be free, and then I insert the ball end of the mirror and close the bolt ?
I understand that when I open the hex bolt then the ball end of the mirror will be free, but I dont understand how to replace the bracket
thanks

You seem to be looking for something that's not availalbe. See http://www.compnine.com/largeimg/920401MA10-008.gif on the Comp Nine website. Item #9 is the metal braket that is glued to the inside of the windshield. If any portion of the rearview mirror, i.e., item #10 (or #6), were broken or separated, the whole assembly, i.e., #10 (or #6), has to be replaced as a unit. If you prefer new, just order it from http://www.compnine.com. Good luck.
