Recently took my car to get control arms replaced and mechanic noticed that I am missing a subframe bolt near the right rear. Mechanic then mentioned how it may be difficult to find this type of bolt since it is very industrial and a very long bolt so places such as Autozone or Advanced Auto Parts likely do not have them.

I am new to this forum, but if anyone knows where I could possibly find this type of bolt or have had similar issues in the past, let me know. I am thinking about going to the dealership and seeing if they may have any spare bolts lying around, but this may likely be the most expensive option. Any advice is highly appreciative.

I would suggest going to a scrap yard to get one

Or have him remove the same one on the other side and take it to Tractor Supply or a similar store. Just make sure it's strong enough based on the rating.

On that score, the junkyard might be better because you know it's the right one. Score +1 for @Darthz!

How about a dealer for a critical bolt instead of messing around elsewhere for special bolt. If it's available they can get it.

I know its not as old as my Camaro....I am going through this issue on the Camaro's gas tank strap.... a friend striped the bolt for that..... dealer couldnt help me..... but was able to give me the size and pith pf the threads so I could source one myself

I thought about getting the dimensions of the bolt if I took it to a dealer or a mechanic just so I may 3D print it through a friend, but the material of it might not work well. Might end up going to the scrap yard.. not sure how the process will go, but hoping for the best. Thanks again everyone!

There are tones of these cars in scrap yards....... heck could probably yank it out yourself.... cheap and easy
