99.9% of states have banned installing HID lights on a vehicle that was not equipped stock with them. Now weather you get ticketed on it or not is a totally different area. Most areas will not bother you unless they are blinding to other drivers. If you live near a bigger city then I would say stay clear if you live in podunk then you can get away with a lot more. Just make sure you do not get blue colored bulbs and that you aim them down slightly so they do nt blind other drivers.

Was wandering around ebay found this ones - http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160377204117&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

Are those any legal in States? What about Canada?

Any opinions about these?
I bought those lights, finally got them installed, there are some loose wires that you will need to tie together and the aiming of them is what took me forever. But I got them installed, aimed correctly and then threw in new bulbs (I bought SilverStar H1's to replace what these came with).

I love them, pricey, but imo, worth it.

Great! Can you post some pics how it looks on your car?! How is the quality of beam and light brightness?

Yes, as soon as I get some time, I will take some pictures for you.

As for the quality of the beam, I am happy, I will show you pictures of the beam hitting a flat white wall and you can see how the cutoff of the beam is sharp (due to it being a projector) however not perfectly straight and angles up on the edges (however not the same on both sides) (not sure if this is normal or not, but adjusting does nothing for it). The lights seem very bright and work well (I can't speak to the bulbs that come with it, as I never used them, I immediatley replaced them with the SilverStar H1's at $20 each).

One thing that is kind of weird is that the low beams and the high beams both use the exact same bulb (an H1 Halogen), my guess would be that this is due to the low beams having the cutoff shade fixed in the light path of the low beam (cannot be adjusted to my knowledge) and therefore they need a separate bulb for the high beams. These high beam bulbs while are the same (H1 Halogen) as the low beam, bulb for bulb, do not have a cut-off shade / lens in front of it from what I can tell.

As for brightness, this is what info I can get that is in a numbers form until I can show you pictures: The stock bulbs in my car (as I would assume would be the same in yours) are basic H11 Halogens which produce 1350 lm ±10% @ 13.2 V. The bulbs that come in these lights are H1 Halogens which produce 1550 lumens ±15% when operated at 13.2 V. I also switched those out like I said to the silverstar H1's which are a brighter white light to help also.

I hope that helps until I can get some pictures up! I love them!

I've used Silver Star Ultras on my cars before and they make a huge difference. I still can't find them for the new body style. All I can find is "regular" Silver Star bulbs. The Ultras are what I'm waiting for - H9 high and H11 low.

I wonder - Can another bulb fit and focus correctly in the housings? If so, then I could use different bulbs and upgrade to Ultra. I'm probably being too optimistic, huh?
