How much money are you willing to spend?
I spent just over a grand on a custom exhaust, and that was only an axle back system.
I spent another $1400 for a tune, a diverter valve modification, and a laptop to load the tune.
Right now I am just north of 300HP.
If I wanted to get to 400 HP, well that would mean new forged pistons, new forged connecting rods, new camshafts, new turbo, full custom exhaust front to rear, and a custom tune to dial it in, along with the labor costs to install the previously mentioned parts. To get that extra 100HP would cost $10,000. That's an awful lot of money to get to 400HP.

In addition to what @JTR19 said, your Malibu is not a performance car. It's front wheel drive with an open differential, meaning 400 horsepower would just get you nightmare torque-steer and a silly one wheel burnout before the transmission blows its guts out.

There is an affordable performance tune from Trifecta that will grant you around 50 extra horsepower and torque. Modify the intake and exhaust if it really makes you happy, but abandon any sort of turbo swap plans to make it a racecar.

Congrats on getting your hands on the final Malibu Premier and LTG! Tint and swapping out the shiny grille for the black are nice updates. I like the tire swap idea. The wheels on the Premier are better than most of the cut rate aftermarket options but the tires GM chose for the Premier are Continental's lowest end economy tire. Good luck with your project.

Is it worth voiding your 3/36 warranty ? Keep it clean and drive it until your warranty has expired. Don't assume nothing will happen to a new car.
Visual stuff is OK but leave the powertrain alone until you get out of the warranty.
Need speed, trade it in on a Camaro. Don't waste time and money on a mom's car.

I saw them bolt on a supercharger on Roadkill and it made awesome power. Or when they just bolted in another 5.3 drivetrain into the rear of an Impala for twin engine power. Easy peasey mods 🤣
