I drive about 10K a year, which is below average. I have had mine for 2 1/2 months and just turned 2500 miles the other day.

I haven't discovered any reason to use or pay attention to the average MPH. I reset it every fillup and mine runs in the mid-twenties to sometimes as high as 30. But I see no value in it whatsoever.

Any plans on changing your oil in 5 more months? Don't go over a year on the same oil regardless of mileage. (General wisdom, but debatable.)

My 'Bu is 6 months old and I just passed 11,500 miles a few days ago.

My DIC shows my average MPH as about mid twenties even though a lot of my driving is in 55-60mph zones. Obviously I only drive about twenty miles an hour :p

My Malibu is eight months old and has 1162 miles on it with an average speed of 16 MPH. and average mileage of 17. after 40 odd years of driving 30k per year on Houston freeways I am overjoyed to be driving so little. retirement is great.

I've had my bu 5 months and have 6600 miles on it. That's just back and forth to work and running around locally. I haven't driven any great distances in it yet. I normally put on anywhere between 15K and 20K a year. Avg mph seems to always say 32. I haven't figured out where I drive at that speed yet. Even on back roads I usually go 35-40 (except where they usually set up radar).

I wonder how the cars' computer figures in engine idle time, like when sitting at stoplights, warming the car up in the mornings, etc.. That may have a measureable effect on the average MPH.

That is crazy that some of you have very low miles on your car. I bought mine for work and put over 3,200 miles a month on my car. I have to fill up everyday during the weekday. I am sure glad I get paid mileage. Also I get an oil change every 5,000 miles and use synthetic oil.
