I just bought my brand new 2009 2LT Silver Moss Metallic Malibu this past Friday. I previously owned a 2001 Grand Am, but blew a head gasket and it was not worth the money to replace. I went back and forth between a G8 and a Malibu, but I ultimately chose the Malibu. I drove it Friday night and all day Saturday and fell in love. I love the Bluetooth, Turn-by-turn directions, and XM! But not everything worked out the way I wanted...

I was on my way home Sunday morning, less than a mile from my house, when a Suburban stopped in front of me, and I couldn't avoid it. :( I braked and tried to swerve and miss, but couldn't avoid contact. My driver side fender and headlight were completely shattered. Also, the fender was pushed up into my drivers side door, prohibiting me from opening it. This was my first brand new car, and I had it less than 48 hours... Needless to say, I was not a happy camper. The Suburban suffered only a dent in its back bumper. Thankfully the driver was very nice about it and repeatedly told me that accident happen...

So, I am currently driving my grandparents 2001 Malibu, and I cannot wait to have my new one back. I have been antsy all week. I have been told by the body shop that I *might* have it back by Friday. I miss it so much already!

Has anybody else had an experience like mine? I have just been a pretty down mood all week. I need some cheering up! :D

P.S. I will put up pictures as soon as I get it back!!!

Well maybe this will help a little, I bought a Chrysler Crossfire and had it a year when this lady on a cell phone turned left in front of me. My Crossfire [with 7000 miles on it] was totaled. This happened in Dec.I really loved that car. I went shopping for another new car and saw the Malibu and thought it was beautiful. Went home and did a lot of research on the BU.2 days later I had my BU. God am I happy now. I know how you feel [missing your BU] Remember to keep a safe distance.

Ouch, sorry to hear.

A friend of mine bought a new Focus several years ago. I don't remember exactly what happened, but as he was pulling out of the dealership lot to take it home for the first time he got hit, and totalled the car...

Back in 1992, I bought a 1991 Beretta. I was only 20 and it was the first car I bought independent of my parents. I drove to over to a friends house to show him the car and left. I was at a red light when the rear view mirror fell off. I leaned down to pick it up and heard tires screeching behind me. I turned around (not having a rear view mirror look through) and BAM... got rear ended by a teenage girl in a Volkswagen Rabbit. The damage was minor to my car, but the damage to my back was extensive. I've been able to avoid surgery for 18 years, but being active, the day is coming. The auto-body shop at the dealer called me a few days later and told me the car had been wrecked before and that he refused to fix the car unless he was able to do it correctly. It turned out the dealership sold me a salvaged car.

Theirs a lot more to the story, but the end result was a 1989 Mazda RX7 Turbo for my trouble. That's right... no payments.

Anyways, bought a 2009 Malibu 2LT two weeks ago new off the lot. I love the car.... easily the best I've owned. Except for the RX7 turbo.
