Hoping someone has the answer that I am looking for. I recently bought a 2011 1LT that I want to upgrade the speakers and stereo. Looking at Rockford Fosgate for speakers to go with my MTX 12 inch subs powered by the hammer amp by MTX and using my Alpine 4 channel to power the speakers. Now the question is does anyone know of a two din head unit that lights blue and second a harness to keep all the bells and chimes for information center. Hate to lose what GM has input but not at all impressed with the stereo setup. If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated. Web searches for the harness hasn't revealed anything that would be useful.

Thanks appreciate the help didn't know if a 2010 was the same radio wise as the 2011. Did search but am looking for any ideas for those who have swapped out the head unit and all. Some people out there need a little tolerance test to those that aren't having much luck with the search engine. I fix people not cars so look for input from the pros to make it an easy process, plus don't like to be ripped off.

From what I have seen eclipse and pioneer have some units that light blue but they aren't double DIN unless it is an in-dash DVD/CD player. Crutchfield lists lighting color too I believe, some head units you can change the colors of the lights. Crutchfield is great for using as a reference to see what you need, but unless you buy everything as a large order and take advantage of the discounts it can get expensive. The adapter harness is pretty expensive for what it does. I bought one for my old impala to adapt for chimes and onstar and it was $100, the malibu costs more depending on your factory options. Plus, the stupid module failed after 3 months and I couldn't get them to send me a new one (metra).

With ya on the expensive part but would hate to loose all the options that GM was kind enough to give me which weren't a whole lot. Any head unit I install will have to have blue tooth and XM as the dealership told me the car had it and it doesn't. Then I will look at security for the car start as well. Want to get the system rocking first so am off to check the masses and see what I can do. Thanks for the help.
