I have an 09 malibu, I just put some 20 inch rims on it but I have a question.. So when I went to the tire shop, like at most of the other shops the guy asked me for the model of my car and year, basically the info they need to know, so that they can put the proper rims on the car. So the guy gives me two options that he had in chrome and I end up picking one of them. Everything went well had good service great price at 1125. Only thing is that when I got home I noticed on the recipient that he had sold me 5x114, and all the other places I had gone to were telling me my car was 5x110. So I'm wondering can I keep the rims on or do I go back and exchange them? Also if i do have to exchange them or return them shouldn't this process be free? I mean isint he the one responsible for what he sold me, yes I may be stupid for not knowing, but he's the professional.

Wow, if you actually have 5x114 rims, it is an accident just waiting to happen! I would be suprised that they would even fit on the car? If they did, there is now way the lugnuts would seat right. Surely it's a clerical error?

yeah for sure i would take it back asap and be careful driving... the wrong bump will break that stem off and your tire goes flying off then let nature do the rest. It should be free for sure its their fault for selling you rims that arent the correct bolt pattern and most places i doubt will have the rim with the 5x110 actually in their shop im sure most people have to order them through catalog taking a few days or so..

Probably sold you those wheels and adapters. I would not want anything but the bolt pattern and no adapters.

It's possible that they are dual fit wheels and 5x114 is what was listed on the invoice. I don't think the 5x110 and 5x114 are even close enough to make that kind of an oops.
