hi all, im new... I just purchased my malibu a week ago so im just getting adjusted to the new ride, i have a 09 ls. I need some advice and some help please, I have always modified my vehicles from a 2000 mustang gt, to a 05 trailblazer so im not new to the scene, but this is my first luxery car to play with, and i need some help making it look classy but not ruined, Im on a budget at the moment but my first big mod will be set of 20" wheels but till then my plan was to touch it up.

I installed the chrome door handle covers 2 days ago and now im wanting to install a grille, pillars, and im still iffy bout the chrome mirror covers, im scared it will look like crap, i do a lot of photoshop work to get ideas so heres what i've come up with and want some opinions, i dont wanna paint the mirrors but I absolutely hate the black plastic look on the ls its horrible.

I just want to make it look more classy, I difinitely dont wanna do no SS clone just add some touchups to the ls but i dont want it to look cheesy. more like the chrysler 300 work u see ridin around.

i just need some opinions before i start installing so i can return them if it will ruin the car. I could always just use the grille with the pillars or vice verse you guys help me out please thanks!!

No mirror covers!! That would just be too much IMO. I have a silver Mallibu with the chrome grill and chrome door handles and it looks just right.

As for 20's, the Malibu is a 5x110 bolt patter- which leaves us with very few wheel choices.

Im definitely gonna use the grille regardless, so its down to which parts do i keep, mirrors? pillars?, the chrome handles are already installed. so its either install pillars, mirrors, or send them back and just run the grille and door handles for a nice clean look, you guys help me out please

I have never been a fan of the chrome pillars or mirror covers. The pillars divide the windows up too much, especially if you plan on getting tint. The other thing is I am not much a fan of chrome, so my opinion doesn't count well here. A lot of the grill overlays can look weird too since they show too much of the old grill, there are some nice replacement grills that look just as nice. Welcome to the site too!

Well, you can do what I did with the grille. Use adhesion promoter, paint, then clear coat. All you have to do is remove the front bumper (easy, but takes time), 8 screws per grille section, paint them, and put it back together. Take a look at my sig.

I agree with the pillars comment by chevyguy8893. You're gonna tint it and putting the chrome between them splits it up too much. I looks better as designed, an uninterrupted expanse.

Also, don't do the chrome mirror covers. It would make it too ghetto and you say you're going for a classy look. If you just gotta do something about the mirrors, the top covers can be removed without taking the mirrors off the car. You have to be careful doing it. Then you can paint them at the same time you do the grilles, if you do that. To see how to remove the mirror cover, check my sig for the turn signals in the mirrors. It's in there with pictures.

I agree about the pillars. It would look really weird if you had tint and chrome pillars. Like I said, I have the chrome overlay grille your getting and the door handles and it looks really good on a silver car, not overkill.

Grille is fine, but the chrome pillars and mirror covers look cheap to me.
