Hi Everyone,

I'm new to the forums. Just got a new 2011 Malibu LTZ Grey last month. Only thing so far I've done was 20%tint all round. love the looks inside and out. It came with the Bose sound system and it sounds so so.

So my question is, is there a way to add a sub or two to the trunk without replacing the factory radio. I like the looks and the controls on the steering wheel and don't want to replace the radio but would like to add some more bass to the ride.

any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Any links to equipment too you recommend would be nice as well.

Hello bernielowmax!

I am doing the same thing. For me the factory HU is good enough (for the time being). I, unfortunately, do not have steering wheel controls. I am bringing my 2 - Fosgates T1 12"s and amps to the new Bu. All you need is the appropriate relay, like MalibuOn22s says. PAC makes one and so does SCOSCHE. The only other thing I want to add is SUB control near my dash so I can turn up the subs seperately from the radio bass controls. I beleive this just adjusts the amplifier gains, as needed.

Good Luck!

Mine is done with the factory radio, but I do wish I had the money to install my pioneer. I miss having control over every frequency of the speakers and then the sub separate. I still need to work on the amps settings, but it still seems easy to overpower with the factory setup.
