Greetings everyone. I hope this car is as good it looks. I really like a lot of the features, the ride, and the overall fun I've experienced with it so far.

I'm coming from a 2004 GTO to this only because the GTO was getting too expensive to repair/maintain. It need a new differential because a stealership decided to re-use 3 torque nuts that can only be torqued ONCE when i had a clutch changed under warranty. Replacement rear end from the dealer is $3K, and trying to prove they screwed up is a legal battle I could not afford to mount. The T-56 Needed to be rebuilt and that parts kit alone runs $800. A decent performance rebuild runs in the neighborhood of $2500. I had already invested $4500 last tax refund season in the driveline, clutch, radiator, and a few other things.. The suspension needed new bushing all around, and the good stuff was going to cost around $1500.

I was just simply out of money. So.. Away she went with a tear in my eye and weight on my chest. Loved the car, but it was time to go.

I hope this car gives me the same level of enjoyment as I had before.

Welcome aboard. You will find alot of useful info here.

I own an LS1/M6 too ('00 Camaro SS) that I just use at the track now basically. The Malibu LTZ is a good car, but no anywhere near as fun as the Goat. I actually just gave mine to the wife and picked up a more fun daily driver.

Enjoy your stay!

Well, that's a bit of a bummer... But I have 4 kids and the Goat only has rear buckets, so the extra seatbelt was needed. My first choice as a replacement was a G8 GT, but I couldn't find any that I could have afforded. I was really impressed with the Holden engineering for the GTO and the G8. But I can say I was tired of the M6 in rush hour with a performance clutch. I will definitely enjoy the better MPG from the Malibu, or more to the point, my wallet will.

Be glad you didn't get a G8. I came VERY close myself. They just have so many issues. Vibrations, bad strut towers, thin paint, crappy A/C, etc. So I passed.
