squeaky brakes are a gm standard. the joke was always that they are made from "pot metal"

If the brakes are squeaking and you are a DIY maintence man then get some brake grease and apply it to the back side of the pads that face the calipers. Solves 99% of the noise problems with new GM vehicles because they ship them with zero grease.

while this is a great idea....if you are going to take it all apart...throw the stock brakes away lol
