Hello all, fairly new to the site been browsing around for a few weeks. Got my first Chevy and second car about a month ago, a 2009 Malibu LT can't figure out if its a 1 or 2Lt though?

Anyhow, plan on doing quite a few mods. So far all I've done is tint 20% on the fronts, 5% on the rears along with swapping the interior, brake lights, trunk light, and reverse lights to led's. Vinyl overlaid the emblems, and de-badged the rear model and trim indicators. Also popped the chrome covers off and been riding on the steelies for a few weeks. Surprisingly I've gotten nothing but compliments on the wheels.

Future plans include black 22's or 20s dropped. Black out all the chrome trim. HID's and an led strip fog setup. As for stereo plan on doing glass pods in all 4 doors with probably 4 mids/highs in each door. Double din up front. For the sub stage I'll likely be doing 8 10's (undecided on brand) in a pseudo 4th order/ bandpass firing into the cab from the trunk.

A couple pics of how it looks now:

Looks real clean. You have a good plan too, including a nice system and wheels. Good luck taking it to the next level!

Welcome to the site! I have always like the steelies for some reason too. I will be interested to see how the car turns out as you modify it.

Welcome aboard!

To help determine if it's a 1 or 2 LT, do you have Bluetooth? Which trans do you have - 4- or 6-speed?

No BT and 4-sp is prob a 1LT, BT and 6-sp is prob 2LT.

Thanks guys, it is a 1LT. Also I've tried searching on how to get the int. leds to turn all the way off with no prevail. I know it requires a resistor, just looking for more info on where to wire it and what value resistor.

I know wheels are a big thing on the Malibu, my own were optional OEM 18s. I just want to point out that increasing rim size over 19" significantly increases weight, begins to decrease fuel economy as a result and takes a toll on ride. It can also increase wear and tear on related parts.

I've also read that 22" wheels barely fit and rub when turning. Just some things to keep in mind, sorry to rain on the parade. Nice Malibu. The black detail theme is slick with the white body color.

Thanks man, and I've done a lot of reading and research on wheels. I am aware of the toll larger wheels can have on related parts. I do want the car to last and be reliable as it is my daily driver, but I love the look of larger wheels on it. I can't stand the stock chrome covers hence the steelies, and don't much care for how smaller wheels look.
