Hi everyone. I have an 04 Malibu Maxx that I've owned for about two months now. In the last few days I noticed that the brake pedal sometimes does not disingage when i let my foot off. I have to lift the pedal with my foot and there's a noticable difference in speed so the brakes are definately dragging when the pedal is stuck. does anyone have any suggestions? thanks
Here's a few pics of the car

It could be the brake pedal assembly, vacuum brake booster, or the master cylinder itself. Conceptually it's just a matter of systematically separating these components from each other until the culprit is found but a lot can go wrong in the process. If you've never worked on these before, I'd recommend taking it to a shop.

Thanks for the suggestions. I believe it's fixed, at least for the moment. I moved the adjustable pedals down a bit and the pedal has since stopped sticking. I believe that it was just something catching on the trim under the dash with the pedals all the way up that was causing the issue. it's been fine for two days now so hopefully that's all it was!

You're quite welcome.:) The possibility of adjustable pedals did cross my mind but I discounted it because the pedal height doesn't really affect how the pedal assembly pushes on the brake booster pushrod (same angles, same travel). You may want to make sure the brake pedal assembly isn't loose (grab the brake pedal and shake/jiggle it).
