I need to get new stock replacement tires for my 2009 Malibu. 215/55/17. What is a good tire under about $150 each? I wanted Michelin Primacy tires, but they are backordered in that size and I need tires before I leave for vacation in September. The only other thing I can find is the Goodyear Assurance Fuel Max. What other tires are decent in my price range? I used to work in Sears Auto Center so this is probably where I will be purchasing my tires.

See if they carry Khumo tires. I have run Khumos on several of my previous vehicles and found them to be a good value.

I got Kumho Ecsta ASX for my summer' wheels about $110 a piece. With shipping and install, from tire rack, $600 should be more than do-able. If buying at Sears you'll pay retail, though with an association with them maybe install or price can be dropped a good deal.
I've also had a good experience with one set of continental, and they have been running many many rebate specials lately. Maybe check those out as that seems like a brand sears might carry.

Thanks for the replies. I spoke with a guy I worked with and he skipped the middleman for me (American Tire Distributors) and secured me a set of Michelin Primacys straight from Michelin. Should have them in a week or so.

Hey but what did you pay! get a good deal? That sounds good. Michelin has always managed to be out of the type/range i was looking for. But i've always heard good things.

Were they the summer or all season Primacy's? Either way, if you were under 600 all around you got a STEAL.

They are the MXV4 all season tires. And unfortunately i'm going to be out just over $600 for them. I can get them cheaper, but i'm very particular about my vehicles and I know the guys in the Sears Auto Center I worked at will take very good care of my vehicle. Not to mention sears stores all of your vehicle info, mileage and date purchased and does on-site warranty replacements/adjustments. Other places make you fight the manufacturer, sears does it for you. And I will have lifetime rotate/balance.
