How is everyone? I'm in the market for probably a Malibu if i can get the dealer to help me out. Right now my dd is a 2007 Trailblazer SS. I love the 6.0 but i have recently took a cut in hours at work right after i moved 20miles away, and now the gas is killing me. I get 13mpg city / 16mpg hwy...... I have some negative equity in the SS that hopefully the dealer can help me with soon.

I just wanted to see how you guys like your Malibu's? I love the exterior styling, but i haven't sat inside one yet......i see nice pics of the LTZ Model with leather. I haven't done my homework on the Malibu yet, but do all of the LTZ's come with the V6? Is the I-4 extra slow? I had a Chevy Colorado with the I-5 that wasn't too bad. I know that nothing will compare to this 6.0....but i don't even care, i can't afford the gas in the guzzler anymore.

Thanks

Welcome to CMF! The LTZ's have the option for either the four or six cylinder. Coming down from a TBSS a four cylinder will seem really slow to you. I love mine, but I saw no need for having the V6 in my case. A lot of members who have the V6 say it is fairly close in gas mileage to the four cylinder, just depends on the foot though. It seems like a lot of the issues are concentrated more within the 08's than anything. I haven't had much of any issues at all and mine is at 63000 miles. The options in the LTZ are nice to have and the leather seats are comfy. Overall it is a very good car to me coming from a hemi dodge ram and then a supercharged impala ss.

Let us know what you end up finding, I am sure more people will chime in with some input.

Thanks for the welcome bro. I just got off the phone with the car dealer, and i'm gonna stop by there tomorrow morning for a test drive and to run some numbers. He talked to me about chevy having some incentives going on with the Impala, but i'm not really intrested in the Impala.

I know that nothing will ever compare to the power i have right now with the 6.0, but its all good i will get used to it.....but i will be loving it as i pass up the gas stations....hahaha.

Looking foward to getting into a new ride....i'll keep you posted.

Welcome fellow GMT-360 and hopefully future Malibu owner! The Malibu (especially the LTZ) is very comfortable on the inside. Sitting in our Envoy and going to the Malibu is like night and day. Seats are better quality and the materials are better in general. The 3.6 V6 Malibu can hold it's own, running 0-60 in very high 5's and low 6's, and a mid 14 quarter mile. If you can, test drive a LTZ V6. You'll love it. It's torquey, fun, and comfortable. Not as fast as a TBSS, but it's descent. I'm a big guy (6' 1" 220 lb) and I have plenty of room. But take a test drive if possible.

I own a I4 LTZ '09 and love it. Very comfortable ride. I too am a big guy, 6'2 230lb and I fit just fine in the car. It's very roomy, quiet, and fun to drive and ride in. There isn't much of a mod support unless you're willing to do custom fab and tuning to it. The I4 isn't going to win you any races, but it gets the job done as far as driving to and from. It also is great for those long drives or just going for a long drive to chill or with some friends.

Are you on TBSSowners? I have one and a bravada with the i6 engine and used to DD either until i got my malibu. I have the 4 cyl, it gets over twice the MPG's when compared to the TBSS but it's definitely slow lol They're good cars though.

Don't worry, i'm not that active on TBSS anyway, more on trailvoy lol and I'm about to let go of mine real soon too. Economy sucks.

But this malibu that i got is a really cheap car to maintain and doesn't guzzle gas like the ls2's do. Hopefully you'll like the test drive, let us know how it goes!!

Well i went to Carl Chevrolet after work, and left there very disappointed!

First of all , i wasn't even offered a test drive.
Second, i emailed the sales guy my information.....that i have a negative equity of about $7000 on my current SS.
Third , after sitting there waiting for an hour...He simply comes out and tells me that i owe too much money on my SS.

Well, he knew how much i owed before i even walked in the door. He could have figured it all out and told me before i even drove over there........We didn't even look at a car at all......wasted my dam time!!

I did sit inside an LTZ on the showroom floor......very comfy!!

I wouldn't get a brand new Malibu unless you lease it. If you want to purchase one, go for one that has ~5,000 miles on it. You'll save huge bucks. I got my lease dirt cheap; 280/month for 24 months with 15,000 miles.

I hear ya guys, but the problem i have is financing...i can't get into a lower priced Malibu because when it come to financing the banks will only finance 120% of MSRP. Once you add my neg. equity into the price its just too much.....maybe if chevy comes out with some rebate offers at the end of the year, then i can do it.
