Hello,

I have a 2011 Malibu LS 2.4L. I get zero pressure when I hook a cooling system pressure tester to my car. The gauge on the pump won't even go up at all. The adapter is on tight. I use the same adapter on my other car and it does amazing. I also sprayed the adapter with soapy water to ensure it was on tight, with no leaks. But no pressure at all. The car runs great. There are no coolant leaks or issues. I've been testing periodically, over the last few months, but no luck. I'm so confused about what's wrong here. Any ideas?

Pressure in the system comes from the coolant getting hot.

If you're testing the system, you have to add pressure because that device is designed to see if there are leaks, not to tell you the pressure.

How are you using it?

I've been testing it when the engine/coolant is cold. I know in my other car, a 2002 Saturn SL1, the pressure tester works great. I pump it up to 15PSI, with the engine cold, and it holds the pressure there. With the Malibu, nothing. I can't seem to build any pressure at all with the testing kit.

On my 2011, the radiator cap is on the reservoir. Yours might not be able to seal properly, or possibly the adapter is not right for your 2011.

I'm just spitballing since I don't know what you're using (no pics or brand/model name).

Are you experiencing any issues with the cooling system? CEL/MIL on? Radiator fans don't turn on, or turn on only when AC is on? Coolant level constantly too low even after filling?
