If you finally do let your OnStar expire try to do it while it's in warranty. I let mine go and I believe that caused several things to change. I could pair my phone but the next time I got in the pairing was lost. I had them fix that and all it took was reflashing. Once it's out of warranty you'll probably have to pay for that. I've seen on another thread where it costs around $150 where they had it reflashed after putting in the factory fog lights just so it would recognize the factory switch to use the factory wiring.
Also, it seems to be coincidental that when I was using remote start I couldn't extend the run time from 10 minutes to 20 while it was running; I had to wait for it to stop and then start it the second time. Now that they reflashed it, I can start it, then hit lock/start again and it will run for 20 without stopping. I believe that fixing the pairing issue also fixed the run/extend issue that I didn't realize I was having until I started a different thread about it.
