GM and OnStar announced the following today: Unfortunately the 2010 Malibu is not on the list

TO: ALL CHEVROLET, BUICK, GMC, and CADILLAC DEALERS

OnStar expands OnStar Mobile App availability to some Model Year 2010 vehicles

Effective immediately, the OnStar mobile app, that connects owners with their vehicles – wherever it is, whenever they want, is now available to download and use with the following MY 2010 vehicles:

Cadillac DTS, Escalade, Escalade ESV, Escalade EXT

Buick Enclave, Lucerne

GMC Acadia, Yukon, Yukon XL

Chevrolet Avalanche, Impala, Suburban, Tahoe, Traverse

This will complete the list of eligible MY 2010 vehicles. There are no plans to make MY 2009 vehicles mobile app capable in the foreseeable future.

Please note that Remote Start functionality will only work on vehicles where Remote Start has been factory-installed and factory-enabled.

The OnStar mobile app offers an amazing level of control and connection to vehicles. After downloading and registering the app, owners with an eligible vehicle can use their compatible smart phone to access real-time data from their vehicle and perform specific commands – like unlocking their doors – remotely.

Unparalleled control to:

Lock/unlock doors from any distance2
Start vehicles remotely 3
Activate Horn & Lights to help locate vehicle
Contact an OnStar Advisor, Roadside Assistance or Preferred Dealer
Unprecedented connectivity to:

View real-time fuel information, including fuel range, gallons of gas remaining and lifetime MPG
Check remaining oil life
View current tire pressure readings & recommendations4
Access account information

OnStar Mobile Application– All communication between the app and vehicles is powered by OnStar’s advanced connected technology. For that reason, owners must have an active OnStar account as well as a valid OnStar website Username and Password to use the app. Please note: If your customer already has an OnStar Username and Password, they’ll still need to visit their Account Settings to activate the app’s Remote Commands and to verify that their correct email address is listed on their account profile.

OnStar Mobile Application Compatible Devices and App Download:

iPhone®5, iPod Touch® and iPad® devices – visit the AppStore and search for “OnStar MyLink”
Android™6 mobile device with WVGA or HVGA resolution running Android OS 2.1 or later – visit the Android Market using your mobile device and search for “OnStar MyLink”

No Blackberry app either, I think I'm done holding my breath on this Mylink idea. GM if your going to bring out a product for the general public to use you should make it available to EVEYONE not just a select few.

OnStar is in communication with RIM to explore options to bring MyLink to BlackBerry. No estimated time of availability exists at present.

How near is the future? My OnStar is about to expire and if it's real close I just might keep it. If not . . . . . .

Probably just another service that they would charge extra for anyway? Onstar is already WAY to expensive for what you are getting.

No exact date is announced, though I wouldn't expect more than maybe 2-3 weeks. They know the exact issue and are just in the process of coding the back end.

Can't wait but seems like they keep saying It's coming, it's coming and it never does. Not a great big deal to me but I just think it would be very cool to have and I don't understand why one of the best selling cars they have isn't supported.

Mylink is THE only reason i would ever renew my on-star subscription! GM or On-star you need to take note of this. im sure i am not the only one with this opinion.

I did not renew my onstar last month on my Malibu, I cited the lack of MyLink as a contributing factor.

I'm days away from it expiring. I will cite the same if it doesn't start working right away.

I talked to our onstar rep at the dealership last week and she said that the 2011 Malibu Mylink app was on track for a mid July release. Kinda sucks, I have it on my Sierra and it's awesome. I wish I had it for my Malibu.

I'm such a derelict for not updating this - pardon me! That initial 2-3 week guesstimate was accurate until they moved around some staff to finish on the upcoming FMV mirror. It's now on-track to be released within one month.
