Phantom electrical issue

Good day.
The step daughter has an 08 Malibu. She was driving, and the guages stopped working. She turned it off, and it won't start back. It will not turn over, and the trunk or locks will not work. I'm not understanding what could happen to make these 3 things stop in unison.

Start checking fuses and relays. There are 3 fuse boxes: under the hood, behind right front center console panel, and left side of trunk.

To open the trunk, lay the seats down, crawl into trunk, and use the kidnapping escape handle.
