That looks pretty good! There is a member on here who has a double din and color-matched the radio surround bracket (for lack of a better name haha) to silver. He used a factory GM exact match paint, like a spray paint.

Just a suggestion, that would enhance your appearance in my opinion.

Do you have any problems with the face folding down? I have a JVC and the face is to thick and catches on the dash kits trim ring so I couldn't use it.
Nope I haven't had any trouble with mine.

maybe a different dash kit woulda fixed it?

1. Pioneer AVIC-Z120BT
2. I have the illumination the exact same color as the interior lights in the Bu.

The price should be going down a bit because the z130 is going to come out soon.

Unfortunately I think your in the same boat as me.. I have a JVC (maybe same model, mine is JVC avx810) from what I read JVC makes their head units just a bit to big. I wish I took a picture because explain this is hard. But I cut the dash kit along the top inside that touches the top of the head unit. So I removed the bottom of the top cross bar (went from looking like a C to an L). Now the head unit moves and tilts perfect now. Hopefully this helped if not just tell me.

I have the ADV793, pretty sure I'm following what you're saying. I'll give it a try next weekend, thanks for the tip.

well, im looking forward to a pretty seamless and easy install. hopefully its nothing like my last; my 2000 cadi sts had to be cut up pretty bad to even fit something. lets just say that i was cutting through cast aluminum and replaced many rotozip bits. there were shards/shavings up cut aluminum everywhere. then, since no double din kit was made for that car, i had to make one from a single din and form it by building up bondo and sanding it down. i oughta post pics sometime so you guys can realize how easy these cars really are!

festo that's nice! Did you carry the black all the way to the doors? Would you mind showing a picture of the whole dash?

Suggestion: Remember that when the sunlight hits gloss black just right, it'll reflect right back into your eyes.

I highly recommend a MATTE finish instead for that reason.

It is your car, however. Feel free to print this opinion out and use it for toilet paper :)

Thanks! I did do it all the way to the doors. The color is actually flat, but it has some texture to it and also some shiny flecks (it looks a little different in person than in the picture) you don't really see the flecks unless in direct sunlight. I was really unsure about it until it all came together, but I will say, I do love it and think it is 100 times better than the standard silver color. Here are some pics of the entire dash and the doors.

As you might see, I still have yet to be able to get the airbag off so I can paint the silver trim around the cruise and stereo buttons on the steering wheel. I tried several times but I couldn't get the airbag loose, but I will get it done soon to finish the project.
