About 1 year ago I noticed that my 04 chevy malibu ls having a power steering problems. I took it in to a shop and they repolaced the power steering module. It seemed to have fixed the problem they said that there was a poor connection to the module. A few months later the problem has come back but now it is intermittent, and along with the power steering working only when it wants to. The gauges will first go down and than it will follow with the lost of powersteering. The problem is becoming more frequent as time goes by. Also, the powersteering will first go half away out and than will completely go out. If you keep driving the powersteering will start working again. We did get the code for the ses light looked at I dont remember what it was exaclty but the mechanic said that there was loss of communication somewhere along the line. If anyone has had any experience with the this problem please let us know all help is greatly appreciated.

I'd like to help but there's no easy way to diagnose intermittent electrical problems. It's a time-consuming work and potentially expensive. You'll just have to find a mechanic who's good with vehicle electronics.
