If you plan on keeping your car for many years, you can take care of the weatherstripping. NAPA sells some stuff called Sil-Glyde in a 4 oz tube.
Best to put it on when it is warm outside. I put rubber gloves on and work it into the weatherstripping with my fingers, wiping off the excess with an old cotton sock or rag. Takes a little practice. Dont be afraid to put it on. This will make it last for many years. Its actually good for all rubber weather seals. Keep it off the glass. I try to do my vehicles every two years.

Nice tip, thanks!

I used something similar a few years ago on my '97 but didn't wipe off the excess until I got into the car with my Sunday suitcoat on. Thankfully it came out when I took it to the cleaners.

I put Armoral on mine, it seems like it helps.
I'm sure it makes it LOOK better; not sure about helping the material last longer though.

I've used silicone spray before but the overspray was a real mess.....and spraing it on a cloth first was a pain.

This is an excellent tip. Silicone "grease" is an excellent lube for lots of things too. The only problem is that it tends to "migrate" to places that you might not want it......so use sparingly.

Thanks for the info. !!! :)

Back in Black is a really common over the counter alternative available at autozone, pep boys, etc... IIRC.

Other than that, you could always use silicone spray (Which you should have on have for doing the weatherseals once a year or so...

I need to get some of this stuff for my car with all this heat here lately and cool nights. I know it's got to be rough on the weatherstripping around my sunroof.
