Why not? Just flush all the old out. Or at least drain out all you can.

Like KURLY said flush all the old coolant out, make sure you put your heater on High when you flush it out so that all the old coolant in the heater gets flushed out also ;)

If your 2000 came with Dex-Cool (the red antifreeze), make sure you are using the Prestone Dex-Cool to replace it

redneck70 : I have that red coolant, but I live in a very very hot country .... so no need for the antifreeze !!!
you should still run some coolent/antifreeze it keep the water pump gasket from rotting out

absolutely you should always run some kind of coolant, the reason I suggest using the Prestone Dex-Cool instead of the regular green coolant, is because it is designed to keep your aluminum cooling system from rotting from the inside.

I think this Thread is a bit suspect.

First he states he has the red Dex-Cool in his system, but used the green, states it was great? Great????

Then, no need for anti-freeze. Anti-freeze also increases the boiling point. You will surely over-heat in hot climates without it.
