I had an oil change and tire rotation at the dealer last weekend. They rotated the tires, but did not reset/match the TPMS. I tested by decreasing pressure in front left, and my DIC said that one of the rear was dropped. So I knew I had to reset the monitor myself. The owner’s manual gives good instruction, and I had no problem performing this procedure. Two questions:
1. Are dealers supposed to reset the TPMS? Do they have a special tool in which they don’t have to inflate/deflate tire by tire like the rest of us do?
2. In the owner manual, the directions worked fine with respect to the horn chirping and so forth. The one thing that didn’t work – I did not notice that the turn signals flashed to indicate what tire I should be on. I followed the owner’s manual (start with front left then front right then rear right last rear left) and it worked fine. And I tested it to make sure afterward. But for other folks – did your turn signals indicate which tire you were on when performing the procedure? Please let me know if there is something wrong with my car.

The dealer should reset the TPS for you - that's supposed to be included in the "dealer experience" Call them for your refund

Your experience is the same as mine: I could not see my turn signal flash either. I just followed the horn chirp as the signal to move to the next tire. The light might have flashed one time very fast. In the daytime, it might be not noticeable.
Any way, the horn chirp is good enough and the procedure is easy to follow. I would not be bothered about the turn signal. It is obsolete because the procedure already tells you what tire should be next. Though, next time I would do it in night time to see if it flashes or not just for curiosity

Thanks Hoahai. I agree the turn signal isn't necessary with the audible horn chirp. And the double chirp at the last tire is an added bonus. For some strange reason, I'm glad you had the same experience as me with the light not flashing. Makes me feel like mine isn't the only car with that missing feature. It is possible the light flashed quick - but you'd never see it because you're bent over the tire letting air out. Good idea to do it at night next time just to satisfy my curiosity.

I have reset mine twice, as i have rotated the tires twice. My turn signal lamps illuminate - not flash, and it comes on steady to tell me which tire to adjust.

i guess my car is the only one that does what the book describes.

Speaking of the TPMS, has anyone noticed any difference in what the tpms reads and what a conventional manual pressure gauge reads? I found that there is as much as a two pound difference between the tpms and the manual pressure gauge. i've got several manual pressure gauges that all read the same and read two pounds higher than what the tpms reads.

Red ......the tpms should have some reading accuracy allowance...normally it's about 1 pound...the gauge might be always right..i think 2 pounds is acceptable..
