I had an oil change and tire rotation at the dealer last weekend. They rotated the tires, but did not reset/match the TPMS. I tested by decreasing pressure in front left, and my DIC said that one of the rear was dropped. So I knew I had to reset the monitor myself. The owner’s manual gives good instruction, and I had no problem performing this procedure. Two questions:
1. Are dealers supposed to reset the TPMS? Do they have a special tool in which they don’t have to inflate/deflate tire by tire like the rest of us do?
2. In the owner manual, the directions worked fine with respect to the horn chirping and so forth. The one thing that didn’t work – I did not notice that the turn signals flashed to indicate what tire I should be on. I followed the owner’s manual (start with front left then front right then rear right last rear left) and it worked fine. And I tested it to make sure afterward. But for other folks – did your turn signals indicate which tire you were on when performing the procedure? Please let me know if there is something wrong with my car.
Red ......the tpms should have some reading accuracy allowance...normally it's about 1 pound...the gauge might be always right..i think 2 pounds is acceptable..
