I know someone who has an LTZ with the Monsoon Radio. He asked me if I had the radio upgrade- I told him it was the Bose Radio. He wanted to hear the difference between the 2 radios, so he took one of his favorite CD's and we listened to it in my car. He was very impressed with the Bose Radio. I didn't listen to his radio, so I couldn't compare for myself. He liked the Bose Radio so much he asked if we can switch. I asked him what the difference was - he said there was more clarity and realism with the Bose - almost like a live performance.

Also, I was asking about Digital Signal Processing a while ago which is one of the trademarks of the Bose System. In the Malibu, it's actually called Proprietary DSP. I thought there were different settings for DSP where you can have different listening experiences. The Malibu doesn't have this feature. In the Malibu, with DSP, the sound is altered based on background noise, etc. to avoid a loss of sound quality and distortion due to road noise, wind noise, etc. I believe there's a cabin microphone that detects background noise and adjusts the sound accordingly.

Based on the cost of Bose Radios, $500 is not a bad price for the upgrade. The upgrade was double that price in my previous car. Maybe this is why they did away with the 6 disc CD changer, to keep the price down.

I am big into audio (plan on doing a full upgrade soon). I have heard both. And IMO there is very little difference. The Monsoon has better mids, the Bose, better lows. The highs and overall power and range are very similar. They actually changed very little. I read, and saw pics on another board. The amp is the same, just with a Bose sticker. And the speakers look very similar as well. Neither one of them sound "good" to me. But for OEM I guess they are alright.

Silver, do you remember what other board you saw the comparision? I have the Monsoon on my '10 LTZ but would like to see pics of the Bose. I'm a car stereo guy and the Monsoon sounds OK to me.
