Wife started the car today after work and the radio was completely dead and the blinker function did not make any noise when activated. She turned the car off a restarted a couple of times and everything came back on. Has anybody experienced this or have an idea what could have caused it? I am thinking there may be a short somewhere but I thought I would see if anyone had this problem. The car is still under warranty but if the problem isn't happening when the dealer inspects it will does me no good. Any help would be appreciated.

It sounds like a short to me, but first you could try changing the fuse, maybe the current one isn't in all the way or has a defect. All my cars have had 2 fuses for the radio, under the dash and under the hood. Or maybe you have a loose connection somewhere. But sorry, i haven't had that problem

Ive had this happen... The fuse box, upon investigation, is of pretty poor quality (mainly that the posts are easily bent and are NOT cleaned(this is standard) prior to installation. Newly mfg'd fuses are often coated and its very easy for a large pothole(did you or her hit anything large?) to throw things off.

All be forewarned, we may be looking at this for some time. If I get around to a full disassembly I'll post a step by step, but im more likely to just fix spotty issues.

Let me know if this helps, or if you want me to step you through this. If you havent poked around too much, that is the box that has the fuse puller in it, so you got lucky on some accounts :). Also, before you put it back in, scrape each side of each blade on the fuse with your nail and if all else fails(i dont recommend this) bend each blade slightly away from fully parallel to force a more secure connection.
