i have an 04 classic, and its hard to describe but there is a rattling noise from the engine bay when i accelerate from a stop or in first into second then the noise disappears... also noticed it when holding on break pedal and gently stepping on gas pedal to simulate heavy load.. is the trans known to make these noises, or do you think its a common heat shield.. just noticed it around 120 am.. so its too dark to work on it, but im cant stop thinking about it lol.
trans shifts smoothly so far, we thought it had a leak, we cleaned the pan a few days ago and haven't seen a leak yet (2 days since), we think the prev owner spilled some
engine is very smooth, and when idling, there is not valve tick
car has 116k on it
idk what else might help the prognoses other then its def a metallic fast vibration, first what came to my mind was .... uh oh its the trans, but there is no other symptoms.
