There's no such reflash available from GM. What you might've seen is one forum member doing custom tuning, but that's basically a modification as opposed to a GM procedure.

The above link also has some discussion of the 6 speed shift logic. Basically, at highway speeds downshifts become different. A shapter throttle input is needed and then it drops down to 4th and takes off. However, note, that staying in 6th is not as bad as it seems with that motor, it actually does some pulling.

I agree, Yury. My wife is kind of a lead foot and wants the car to downshift immediately. The 3.6l does have some torque.
Well, for a lead foot the stock tuning is actually good. If you stab the pedal quickly it will go to 4th right away :)

... It will reflash both the ECM and TCM together. He seems to be most well known with the Pontiac folks and he posts on some of the Pontiac forums under the moniker name GTprix I believe. The phone number listed on the web page is not working at the moment although he indicated it would be up next week. He is still reachable by email. Here is the link.
I though "GTprix" sounded familiar and I recalled that I have seen his posts on http://www.efilive.com/.

I wonder how much he charges for his tune. Another important question for me would be how to flash the original software back...Just in case, say fuel mileage is not good or something else is not to your liking....Is he going to send you AutoCAL (I presume that's the device he's using) again? That might get awkward, so it'd better be cheap :)

Hmm...for 700$ you can buy the Flash Scan yourself and do your own tuning :)
