Hey, I have a 2018 Malibu 1LT and my rear view camera all of the sudden will not turn off when the car is running (even during auto stop). If I don’t turn the car on and just turn the electronics on, the camera will not come up and I can access the infotainment. However, as soon as I crank the car, the rear view camera appears. With that being said, the infotainment buttons are still active even though I can’t see them on the screen. Can anyone help?

I am a bit late here but I think I know how to correct this. If not already off, turn the engine off and open the driver's side front door. Inside the instrument panel fuse box (under the headlight switch) find the F42 fuse and remove it. It is the radio fuse. Close the driver's door and start the car. Sit with the engine running for about 30 seconds then turn it back off and open the driver's door again. Replace the fuse, shut the door, then turn the car back on. This forces a timeout of communication and the restart forces a redetect from scratch. It might work for some and is easy enough.

Have you installed led bulbs for the back up lights?

Install at least 1 load balancing resistor on the reverse lights. This will mimic the current that the stock bulbs draw and allow the circuit to shut off.

Did u find a fix?
You should try a load balancing resistor and then share whether it helped or not.

This thread is full of one-and-done posts, so nobody knows if it worked.

Did this work? Mines is doing the same after I installed led lights in the rear lights
I Had this same issue on my 2019 Malibu LT, stopped by autozone and got the sylvania load resistors for around $20 and I believe it comes with the connectors for you to splice in the wires. Took probably 20-30 minutes in total to add it in and mount it and it solved my problem. You will need to buy some small self tapping screws to mount the resistor to the trunk and keep it off the fabric liner in case it would get too hot. You only need to add in one resistor but the box will come with two. Hope this helps you fix your issue. If you need some guidance there are plenty of YouTube videos that show you how to add in a load resistor to your lights.

This fix was simple and easy all you have to do is turn the car off, find the radio fuse in the fuse box near steering wheel and remove the F42 fuse (last light blue 15fuse on top row) turn the car on /then off put the fuse right back and simply turn your car back on.

That's correct. Your post added something, and that's always a good thing.
