I have a set of remote start key fobs from my 2007 1lt. Will the same fobs work on a 2010 1lt? The salesman says they are different(says he asked service manager) but when i look online to order new fobs, they seem to be the same set. When we got the 2007 was told by dealer, you couldn't add remote start to that car (we did successfully) so I have little faith in what they say. Have asked to have the 2010 "programmed" as part of the deal, but I would like to verify that they actually did it. (if my old remotes don't work, I don't want to order a new set online to only find out they didn't really program it)

Did the new car come with Key Fobs? If so, check the numbers of the back of the fobs and see if they are the same. If they are, then they can be programmed.

I don't have the car yet. Not sure about the part number theory. I just bought a trans and fuel filter for my 2007 Duramax and the part number doesn't match my old one on either filter (they original part number has been superceded)

The online 2010 fob looks a little different from my current in-hand fob, but matches the "new 2007 online fob".
My theory is that the new fob is a replacement for the 2007-2011 fobs.
i.e if I order a remote start kit online (either 2007 or 2010) it will be the same kit
