Well i removed my front license plate bracket since I live in florida and they are not required my law....The unfortunate part is this bracket was held into place with rivots. So I decided to drill the rivots and was left with Three ugly holes in my bumper. I looked at bumperplugs.com, but for the price I decided to purchase hole plugs and paint them myself....attached are a couple pictures before and after....and if you noticed somehow during the project I have a small scratch that I have to figure out how to fix since I don't paint for a living

Did you feel around with a flat-head screw driver at first?
An easy way to at least address the coloration eccentricity would be to get the lacquer touch-up bottle from the dealer, and when using, heavily wipe the brush off on the top so you only have a little paint each time. This way you can dab in the spot and get 3 or 4 coats into the hold without TOO much of a bump. If you just dip the brush in and dab you'll have a bump of the paint in such a small knick and only get one coat on. Then, wet sand the bump of the touch up with a unigrit 2000 block (about 10 bucks). You'll find it handy to have around for quick DIY touch ups in the future as it wont wear down too much that look better than just the paint, but of course not like a repaint (but also way less $$ and reusable)

Lucky duck for not needing a front plate. I've heard rumors about IL but nothing yet that i know of. Stuck with it for now.

I hope they cut you some slack for at least making the attempt to have it visible.

+1, I know a lot of people in Illinois that get nailed for improperly displayed plates, but that is around the Chicago area which seems a little more strict in law enforcement. Somewhere on here are some nice pictures of the hideaway plate bracket which would be a good alternative if the placement doesn't go over well. Looks a lot better than the giant plate bracket though.

Ya Chicago police didn't like the front window tinting law either and would write tickets even though they were legal. So I think this does look better then the big plate bracket I'll cross my fingers I dont get harassed by the northwest suburban police.

I'm sure you'll get issued a ticket for this since the plate is obstructed. I might be crazy but, I don't mind the LP bracket; I think GM did a nice job of making it rounded and contoured to the vehicle

This is what I did with my front plate and I live in IL. Just recently did it so not sure if it's going to be a problem yet or not but it looks much better than the alternative I think.
I like the way this turned out I might do it as well.the front of you Bu' looks clean get rid of those amber bulbs and put some chromed ones or something looks way better with that!!! have you gotten much crap for the plate being there? I have mine in my window because, I already received a fix it ticket for not having one at all.
