Hi all...I'm new here and have a pretty stupid question. I've been reading about how to change a brake light and the sources I've read state to: Remove cargo twist bolts, Remove carpet, Twist off wing nuts and remove housing.

Now, this thing won't budge and I can't visualize how it will come off in the first place. Can someone help? I REALLY don't want to take it to my mechanic and have him do it!

Sounds crazy but everyone makes it sound SIMPLE! I've tried for about 30 minutes and can't do it :) Thanks in advance!

Pull back the carpet to reveal the wing nuts. There are three to remove in order to get the housing off the car. The cargo twist bolts are just cheesy plastic thingies that strip easily. Remove them with due caution.

Left loosy, righty tighty. :D

Thanks guys! I missed a bolt on the right side of the housing :) I knew it was something silly. Changed it in seconds after all that! I was looking for a replacement bulb and found LED replacements...$17!! Regular bulb was $5. I stayed with the regular bulb :)

Once the carpet is pulled back, can you also get to the license plate light? I looked and from the outside it doesnt look too accessible.

Im assuming that the above method will allow a change of the reverse light too?
