I have a 1999 Chevy Malibu LS and I can't figure out how to replace the low beam bulb. I've googled a bunch of sites and I can't find any details/pics on how to do it. The manual doesn't help at all. Can anyone help with this? Start to finish.

It's actually very simple, very simple compared to many other cars. After opening the hood and when you look at the headlights, you'll notice right behind the lights are two black "latches" as the book calls them. You pull those latches up, but not too hard. These latches hold in the headlight. After you have them pulled up, the headlight should come out with a little bit of a pull. Then all you do is twist the socket counterclockwise and the bulb will come out. Then you simply undo the clip that holds the light bulb to the wiring harness. You then take the the new bulb and connect it to the wiring harness, which will clip back into place. Then twist the light bulb clockwise in the headlight and install the headlight back in and match up the latches and press them down and thats it.

Make sure you don't handle the new bulb by the glass, it will shorten the life of the bulb.
Sometimes you need to use a flatblade screwdriver to pry gently on those tabs to bring them up.

yeah, they can be a bit of a pain to get up. for some reason, both latches on my driver side are a pain, but the passenger sides go up pretty easy.
