We just received a set of wheels that we bought from eBay. They came off a 2004 Chevrolet Malibu with 87K miles which doesn't seem like it.

We decided to keep them because they were not expensive but hopefully we can fix them.

This is the problem. I believe it's the clear coat that looks so bad but hopefully someone knows.

Front (they all have the same thing all over the aluminum part not the darker sections)

Inside

The inside seems different from the outside but it's also pretty hard to remove

We tried sanding them but did not get the results that we were looking for

Spots where we sanded the blemishes

What can we do? I have a few more pics that I couldn't post due to the limit

They are pretty far gone and IMO not worth the time or money to refinish.

What I would do is just powdercoat or paint them.
